I like to write about funny things, but this post is not-so-funny.
Recently I had a request from the Gainesville Times to write an editorial piece regarding a local threat to our area. Dominion Power is planning to run 100 foot high electrical towers & power lines through local properties that include Civil War Trails, our county's only vineyard, a Boy Scout campground, a historic church and cemetery, and The Bull Run Warrior Retreat -- established by Serve Our Willing Warriors for wounded, ill and injured warriors + their families -- just to name a few endangered neighbors.
Even worse -- the power lines are not for us, but for one client setting up a data center in this (supposedly) protected area known as The Rural Crescent.
This is very serious stuff. It is a David vs. Goliath situation and a really righteous cause, worthy of your awareness and engagement.
I'm sharing a link to the article below. Perhaps you will feel inspired to write a letter or sign an online petition protecting our historic 'Rural Crescent' area and the properties of all the fine organizations mentioned above.
If so, God Bless You!
